Roma defeated Atalanta by 2 to 1 and assume leadership of the Italian Football League

- Roma won by 2 to 1 Atalanta at the Olympic stadium in the capital on
Sunday for the 33rd round of the Italian football league, and took the
first position of Inter Milan.
The Romans were faced with a
golden opportunity to pass to lead the Series A and they did not
wasted, continuing the impressive wave of results, with five straight
victories and 22 league games without defeat - 16 wins and 6 draws,
from the 11th round .
The round was particularly good for
pupils of Claudio Ranieri, since the other aspirant to the title, AC
Milan (3), failed to pass the home draw against Catania (2-2), getting
the four points of top spot.
In the game of victory, Roma
went ahead in the first half with goals from Montenegro's Mirko Vucinic
(12), with a sharp kick, and Marco Cassetti (27), straight after the
intersection of Francesco Totti. But Atalanta managed to close the gap
with Simone Tiribocchi to 53 minutes.
With five rounds to
the end of the competition, the Rome which had not occupied the
leadership of the League since the fifth round of the 2007-2008 season,
appears as a title favorite, especially for its excellent time and the
uneven performances of their opponents.
At San Siro, Milan
came back to show weakness and managed to salvage a point with two
goals from Marco Borriello (48 and 81), after the Catania come out
ahead with the Argentine Maxi Lopez (12) and Adrian Ricchiuti (43).
